Recommended Instrument List

I am providing the following Check List and Recommended Instrument List as a guide for its patrons seeking a practical purchase or rental agreement when shopping for a band instrument.  Please review this information.  Further clarification or questions should be addressed to myself.

Check List

When shopping for an instrument to purchase or rent, reasonable service to be expected from a music merchant includes the following:

·        Prompt turnaround service on small repairs or adjustments

·        A loaner instrument if extended shop repairs (seven or more days) are necessary

·        An inventory of rental instruments which meet or exceed the quality standards of those appearing on the Macksville Recommended Instrument List

·        A rental instrument which has been repaired and in top playing condition

Wind instruments: thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, and play-tested

·        A reasonable and fair policy of instrument switching at the request of the teacher

·        A reasonable and fair instrument exchange or refund policy if the music teacher does not approve of the instrument due to quality standards

Rental Night

Senseney Music will be here on Friday, September 7, from  4:00 - 6:00 p.m. in the music room.  They will rent-to-own, sell instruments, and accessories that evening.  If you have question before then you may call them at (800) 362-1060.

The following list represents the quality brand instruments recommended by the instrumental teaching staff; accessories, both required and optional, are also itemized.  Beginning band students are expected to provide their own instruments if playing one of these instrument types.  A limited number of other instruments are available from the school district, including french horn, baritone/euphonium, and tuba.  Students interested in playing one of these instruments should first consult their teacher.

3.        Successfully perform an evaluation piece selected by the teacher
